How do I explain Dyslexia to my 10 year old daughter? - ...dyslexia

My daughter is 10 years old, and is soon to test for dyslexia - but it is clear that this is the case, we take out the appropriate tests. But how can I explain dyslexia in a polite way, so do not think my daughter, there is nothing wrong "with him. He is already struggling with self-esteem as a result of reading, writing, spelling and math problems and was bullied at school. How can I explain why this test is a good thing, and that dyslexia is just a small part of what he is?

Tell him that everyone's brain works differently. Some people are good at sports, others in mathematics, reading others, others in the art or cooking. Some brains of people have more problems with the meaning of the signals that are part of the reading. His eyes and brain do not communicate very well. The good news is that if you understand how the brain works, there are ways to help them learn better.
